manage site quotas - SharePoint 2013

Quota template is very vital from every administration as well as governance perspective by which you can control the growth and take immediate action before it actually exceeds.

You can also specify the resource usage quota. SharePoint then monitors the resource usage level for a site collection against this quota. To monitor the resource usage level, SharePoint collects performance data such as processor time and unhandled exceptions that relate to custom code being used in sandboxed solutions.

The resource usage quota is a site collection value that is generated by SharePoint Online. Resource quotas can reduce the risk that custom code may cause poor performance in the site collection.
