Is SharePoint an Ideal platform for Help desk tickets ?

We are looking for a Help desk/Issue database system which can be used to resolve and also record the various types of Quality issues occurring at our manufacturing plant. We make finished product from Scratch. During the Process of manufacturing and flowing of parts from various departments to the main assembly point many Quality issue occur, we want all the internal departments to issue quality tickets to each other and resolve it at their level. We want to make sure the Ticket is only closed by either the ticket issuer or ticket coordinator. We as central quality also wants to overview the whole process by having Maximum rights and make sure all the tickets are closed in timely basis. We are a company of around 400 Employees but the ticket users shouldn't exceed 50 Employees. I hope I was able to give you enough understanding of our requirements.

Permission levels on Library Folders

I have a client who has a group that she wants to be able to see the whole site but 1 document library; she only wants this group to see 1 folder. I've removed the group from the document library and then added it to the folder but that just adds the group back into the library and the group now sees all 83 folders. Please tell me I don't have to go to all 83 folders and delete this group?  Any help is greatly appreciated.

web-based, interactive standardized forms

I am new to SharePoint. We have O365 and I need to set up an Intranet for our organization. That I can do, but need to add some web-based, interactive standardized forms to be used to record team...

InfoPath is built into SharePoint.
What we currently use are Excel Spreadsheets to document information daily (i.e. meeting minutes). I believe I may be able to convert those Excel spreadsheets to InfoPath forms and they are accessible via a browser. This way, the forms can be completed online (web - based). Does that make sense?

SharePoint Forms

What are people using to design custom forms in SharePoint? We have used InfoPath and recently we purchased a Help Desk package from SP Marketplace and that template uses Dynamic Forms. I have heard that InfoPath is going to be discontinued (whatever that might mean) and I am wondering what others are using to create custom forms...including tabs with fields that show up based on choices...any ideas, suggestions, etc. would be appreciated. Thanks to all.

Help with list view threshold error

I am sure we have all encountered the list-view threshold limit of 5000 items many times. However, this is a scenario I have not encountered: We have libraries that exceed the threshold limit that the users have organized into folders. I am recommending splitting these out into different libraries to keep below the threshold but Microsoft articles advise that this is a reasonable way to manage large lists.

Here is my problem: what if I want to change the URL of the site? When I go to change the site title and URL I am hit with an error prohibiting the operation due to exceeding the 5000 item threshold. I assume that this is because SharePoint is updating each list item with the new site URL as the path for the item is a hidden metadata field.

Are we expected to never change the site name if we have large lists or am I missing something? I will get around this issue in the short-term by splitting the library but I am unsure what to tell future clients, especially since I can't find any articles on this specific issue online.

How to enter your URL in the application - Google Adsense

When you sign up for AdSense we ask you to tell us the URL of the primary website that you want to show ads on. To successfully submit your AdSense application, the URL that you provide must be a domain that you own, and must not be a webpage or directory, or contain any parameters. For example, if you’re the domain owner of example.com and that’s the domain that you want to monetize with AdSense, then you should enter example.com in the box labelled “I will show ads on.”

You will need to show ads on your domain, for your application to be reviewed. The number of accounts that can use the same domain to sign up for AdSense is limited. If there are already ads from a different AdSense account being served on your sign-up domain, you'll need to use a different domain to sign up for your new AdSense account.

How to get your application approved - Google Adsense

Payee/Contact Name
You must be able to receive checks made payable to the name on your AdSense application. AdSense applications with incomplete names won't be approved.
·         For business accounts:
o    Enter the name of the organization in the 'Payee Name' field
o    Enter the name of the person in your organization who manages the website in the 'Contact Name' field
Address
Only AdSense applications with valid mailing addresses will be approved. Please provide your complete address including as much of the information listed below as is available for your location.
·         Street Address (including house number, street name/number, flat/apartment number)
·         City / Town
·         State / Area
·         Zip Code
·         Country / Territory

Email Address
·         The email address you enter will be the login you use to sign in to AdSense. You'll also receive all communication regarding your AdSense account at this email address, starting with your email verification message. For this reason, please make sure you enter a valid address where you can receive email.
·         If you enter an incorrect email address, you'll need to submit a new application using your desired email address.

Under Construction/Difficult Site Navigation
In order to be approved, your website must be launched and contain enough textual content for our specialists to evaluate. Websites that are under construction, don't load, or have non-functioning links, will not be approved. Please ensure that the URL on your application is entered correctly.
 Site Ownership
You must have access to edit the HTML source code of the website you submit for AdSense. If you submit a site you don't own (for example, www.google.com), you won't be able to place the AdSense code on the site and your application will not be approved.
In some locations, including China and India, we also require publishers to have owned their sites for 6 months. We've taken this step to ensure the quality of our advertising network and protect the interests of our advertisers and existing publishers.
Unsupported Language
Unfortunately, AdSense is not yet available for all languages. If the primary language of your website doesn't appear in ourlist of supported languages, we'll be unable to approve your application. In the future, please check back at the link provided to learn whether AdSense is launched in your language.

How to apply for adsense

You can apply online to Google Adsense right here Here you will supply your website URL,Individual name or Business Entity, contact name (you if applying for yourself; could be someone different if you are applying as a business entity), mailing address, phone number, email address, and perhaps one other basic bit of information.  You are not required to submit your TIN or bank account information at this stage yet.  This will happen after you get approved.

Make sure to give accurate phone and physical address information. You will be REQUIRED to verify your phone number and they will mail you a PIN to the address you supplied.

Approval usually occurs within 24 to 48 hours now.   If you follow my steps above for creating  a unique site that has never been involved with Google Adsense before, you should have no issues getting approved quickly.
At that point, you will receive an approval email from Google that explains the process.  Essentially you are “temporarily” approved until you meet other verification steps.
This means you can start placing ads on your site and you will see the clicks and revenue coming into your account.  Google is simply monitoring your activity to make sure you are not clicking your own ads or sending suspicious traffic.  As long as you leave your ads alone and don’t do anything suspicious – you should be fine.
In addition, you can also add the Google Adsense code to ANY of your other websites!  You don’t have to apply for each new site.  Once you have any approved account, you can use the same Adsense code on all your sites.

Can I change my payment currency? - Google Adsense

Unfortunately, it's not possible to change your payment currency. If you'd like to switch to another currency, you'll need to close your current account and open a new one.

How can I change the country in my account?- Google Adsense

Generally, you can change the country in your account by following these steps:
  1. Sign in to your account.
  2. Click the gear icon in the upper right corner of any tab, then, from the drop-down list, select Payments.
  3. Click Payee profile.
  4. In the "Payee profile" section, click Edit next to your “Profile information”.
  5. Scroll down to “Country” and select Edit.
  6. Select your preferred country and click Save.
However, there are three situations in which you won't be able to change your country directly within your account:
  • The payment currency in your account currently isn't available as a payment currency in your new country. View a list of countries and their payment currencies.
  • You’re changing your profile address to a country outside of your contracting entity
  • You're located in or changing your country to one of the following:
China, India, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, or Singapore
Due to system and legal constraints, we aren't able to change your country if you're located in or need to change to an address in one of these countries.
In any of these cases, you will need to close your existing account and open a new account using your desired address. Please visit here to begin the cancellation process. Once the cancellation process is complete, submit an application for a new account here.

How do I change my payee name or address? Google Adsense

Though our Terms and Conditions don't permit transfers of account ownership, we do allow you to update your payee name and address. In most locations, you will have the option to change your payee name within your account by following these steps:
  1. Sign in to your account.
  2. Click the gear icon in the upper right corner of any tab, then, from the drop-down list, select Payments.
  3. In the Profile details section, click edit payee name.
  4. Review the important notes about payee name changes, accept the terms, and continue. Enter your desired payee name and save your changes.
In the same section of your account, you can update your payee address by clicking "edit address".
Additionally, if you have a form of payment that requires a separate delivery address, you'll need to update this information in your payment settings. Follow these instructions to update your delivery name or address.

Can I change the account type - Google Adsense

Once you submit your application as a Business or Individual, you can't change your account type. If you need a different account type, you'll have to go through the process of closing your current account and opening a new account with your preferred account type.

You can't transfer your reports to a new account, but you can save any report data for your records by downloading your reports in comma-separated values (CSV) format prior to canceling your account.

Address (PIN) verification overview - Google Adsense

What is address verification?
To protect the security of accounts, Google requires you to verify your address before we can send you any payments. To do so, we mail a Personal Identification Number (PIN) to your Payee Profile address. You'll then need to enter this PIN within your account.

When will my PIN arrive?
We'll print and send your PIN by standard mail several days after your account balance reaches the verification threshold for the first time. PINs typically arrive within 2-4 weeks, but may take longer depending on your location.

What does the PIN mailer look like?
We mail your PIN on a white postcard measuring 4.5 x 6 inch (11.4 x 15.2 cm). See an example

When do I need to enter my PIN?
You'll have 6 months from the date your first PIN is generated to enter it in your account. If you haven't entered it after 6 months, we will stop showing ads on your pages.

Where can I enter my PIN?
When you receive your PIN, enter it in your account following the instructions on the PIN mailer.

What if my PIN doesn't arrive?
We understand that due to postal service issues in your area your PIN can fail to reach you. That's why if you don't receive your first PIN, you can request 2 additional replacement PINs. Learn how to request a new PIN.

Can I send you a copy of my official identity document or domestic bill?
Only if you've requested your maximum of 3 PINs and haven't received any of them within 4 weeks of your last PIN request. In this case, sign in to your account and you'll see a notice on your Home page with further instructions on how to send us an official document proving your address through a 'Contact Us' form.
